Always on the hunt for a better hair straightener? Wondering what is the best flat iron out there? Look no further! On this one, we both agree that the Theorie SAGA Touch collection is the best flat iron we've ever used! 

Description: This sleek flat iron comes in four colors (black, red, blue and purple) and offers titanium plates with "ionized technology", touch screen controls, automatic shut-off, a non-slip grip, and a heat-resistant textile swivel cord. It's available in either 1" or 1.5" (we both have a 1.5"). You can set the temperature anywhere from 310°F - 450°F (150°C - 232°C) and it comes with a lifetime warranty if you register it on their website (www.yourtheorie.com). The listed specifications are single Voltage: 110-127V, 60Hz and power: 45 watts. Ours came in attractive cases that can be used to store or travel with the flat iron.

For me, this straightener is a life saver! I’m always in a hurry in the mornings and with this straightener I can just turn it on, brush my teeth and then straighten my hair; there’s basically no wait time! The first couple days I was pretty stumped by how to get the straightener’s touch screen to unlock and stay unlocked long enough for me to set the temperature but you quickly get used to not having the buttons that ALWAYS change temperature on you when you're in the process of straightening your hair like with a lot of other straighteners! So even though it was hard to figure out how to use the touchscreen in the beginning, you realize you gotta take some and give some!

One of my favorite things about the straightener is the case it comes in, its a nice leather rectangular box type case and it looks classy and isn’t too hard to fit the straightener back into. Although the straightener is most definitely my favorite, the only flaw to me is the touch screen because, like I said earlier, it is pretty confusing when you first use it but after awhile you get used to it (although I have had the straightener for almost three months and still haven’t figured the auto switch off setting!).

Also, the colors are fantastic I have the blue one and Christine has the purple one and they look stunning. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the red one since its more of a crimson but the blue and purple are pretty electric colors and make the straightener look very sleek and professional.

I am absolutely loving this hair straightener! I have super thick hair and it normally takes me forever to straighten it, but with this Theorie flat iron I can do it so much faster! I've been using it for about 3 months now and I only have to divide my hair into maybe 2-3 layers so that saves time, plus I only have to go over my hair once and it is straight! With other flat irons it usually takes at least a couple runs through the straightener before it is as straight as I'd like. Plus, this one heats up practically instantly so no more waiting around while your straightener warms up. And it hasn't once snagged my hair yet - and you can imagine that ALWAYS happens with other straighteners on my super thick hair!

I also love the touch screen with the built-in lock so the temperature doesn't change on you (it took me a while to figure out how to work it the first time though!), and there are no protruding buttons or anything. Plus the swivel cord means it has never gotten tangled. And, the fact that both it and the case are so pretty doesn't hurt either!

For me the only thing that could improve this flat iron would be instructions that show you how to use the touch screen settings! We had to look online to figure it out and as of yet there's not a ton of info out there!

All this being said I am positive that this is well on it's way to becoming the best flat iron of 2013!

I love flat iron becauseit leaves the hair very straight and silky the Chi Irons didn't work as great as these love them so much

Im thinking about buying this model....I've always used chi....can this flat iron be used anywhere in the world? Voltage? Also I've read some reviews that states that the digital screen freezes. Also if i buy this off a seller on ebay am i still eligible for the lifetime warranty?

I purchesed a Theorie flat iron at T.J. Maxx because it looked beautiful and expensive on the shelf and it also looked like I'd be getting a great deal. I googled information on the flat iron and, sure enough, I WAS getting a great deal on an iron that most people said they loved...except for ONE thing--the irons stopped working after about a month. Well, I was happy that my original iron worked for TWO months before it gave out--just like that. I had registered my iron and when I call customer service, they replaced my broken one with a new one. All I had to do was pay the s&h to send my original iron in. After a little over a week, i had received my new iron. I figured that even with the s&h, which cost the same as the price I paid for the iron, I was still getting a good deal. Now, I've had my NEW iron, which supposedly fixed the problem of the irons just not working after time, and lo and behold, I've had it one month and it just stopped working...AGAIN!! When the iron works, it works great! But what the hell kind of quality is this? The price is $150 and it just gives out in one month?! That is unacceptable for this name and price. Now what am I supposed to to? Keep sending this iron in every month? It's just too bad that such a good iron only works for one month before it just breatks. I will NEVER pay full price for a Theorie. I'd be sorely disappointed if I had! The only reason I'm not infuriated is because I got such a great deal on my original iron. Either way, after paying half price, my "new" iron is STILL broken. Big disappointment and failure for this iron.

How does the automatic turn off stay on, it's like u have to program it every time I turn the thing on an who wants to have do that every use.

Thanks for writing. The voltage is 110V, you would need use an adapter. Our LIFETIME warranty will not be covered if a tool is purchased from an unauthorized web-site. I would steer clear of Theorie on ebay. Again many thanks for your interest in Theorie. Carrie Robinson, vp of sales, Theorie

First I would like to say we have a recall on the irons due to faulty cords, I will have a compete new inventory the end of this month, which will represent high quality and long lasting tools.

Secondly, I have no idea why she would have been charged S&H, she should not have incurred any cost what so ever. I will have a new iron sent to her as soon as the new inventory hits my warehouse. An iron that is the quality Theorie stands for.

I bought two of your 1-1/2" Titanium Flat Irons for my two daughters in December 2013. They were so excited to receive the irons which were one of their favorite Christmas presents. Unfortunately, one of the irons started to malfunction after a couple of months. I think it has something to do with the cord. My daughter did not tell me about it until a few months later. The iron was barely used and I would have tried to take it back to the retailer but I couldn't find my receipt. I happened to find my receipt in my car recently but it was faded from the heat. The irons were very expensive and I am hoping that you would be willing to repair or replace our defective iron. The UPC is 1889301030 (I think...it's very small!). Also, I am reading in this post that there was a recall because of the cords. Should I have both of the Flat Irons repaired/replaced? Thank you!

Hi Carrie,
I just purchased the 1" Saga flat iron yesterday at TJMaxx and was so excited to get home and try it out! I plugged it up and it won't even turn on unfortunately. I tried to go to the Theorie website to register the flat iron so that I can send it in for repair, but it won't let me register for some reason. Can you please let me know what I need to do to get my flat iron fixed? It was the last one they had so I was really hoping I could avoid returning it because I would love to try these flat irons out since I've heard good things about them.

I received a Theorie Saga Collection 1" Titanium as a Christmas gift. Sadly I wasn't able to register it online since it was asking for the receipt as a proof-of purchase. Less than 5 moths after, it's no longer working, despite using it with care. I loved the product, but now I am having doubts if buying the product will be worth it.

You have my apologies for your unfortunate experience. We do stand behind our lifetime warranty but we would need proof of purchase. We do not stand behind any tool that has ben sold by an unauthorized site/discount store etc.That is why our site requires a receipt to register. Do you at least know where your iron was purchased? Hi Carrie,
It's nice to be able to go to a website to have responses from the VP of sales respond to everyone's questions and issues. It's nice to see a company go the extra mile to help customers and also care about the product they put out to satisfy customers.
I received my straightener in a white elephant gift exchange with my girlfriends this past Christmas and I have been more then happy with the product until my touch panel had a shortage. It has to do with wire by the plug in Bc if clip the cord in a loop by the plug in in a certain direction it works. But every day has been a struggle to get my product to work.
Since it was a white elephant I don't know who bought the product from where. I just know I have it with the amazing leather box.
Now since you guys did a recall on the cords is there anyway I can receive a new straightener?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am writing you from Los Angeles. I have a similar problem to others.
First of all I have always loved your product and that is why my friend bought me your flat iron as a gift. Sadly it does not switch on at all.
Since she is from east coast she did a lot of shopping and can not find a receipt anymore. SO now I have the expensive iron, she lost a lot of money and it does not work. I really hope you can help me out. Thank you! Renee

Hi there,

My girlfriend's Theorie Saga 1" just decided not to turn on this morning. I got it for her for Christmas either last year or the year before, but I don't know if she ever registered on the website. What can I do about this? The fabric on the cord is a little featured, but has been for most of the time we've owned it. It looks the same as it did yesterday, and it hasn't been dropped or anything. I got it for her because I was tired of seeing her waste money on these cheap brands that work okay for a couple months then just die, and I'm quite happy with my choice considering this one has lasted at least a year, but I also bought it for the great warranty.

Hi Carrie! I purchased a Theorie Saga a few months ago. I have used it daily, and have really enjoyed it. The past few days it has started to turn off after heating. The iron will only turn on and heat if the cord is in a certain position. I think there may be a short in the cord to the iron itself. I realized today that I never registered my product and I am freaking out that I didn't. Is there anyway that I could possibly get my iron replaced or fixed? I would appreciate it so much, thank you for your time!

Hello all. I purchased a Theorie Saga Collection flat iron at TJ Maxx. I have LOVED every minute of it until the minute it started to demise.
I have thick coarse hair and it has served me wonderfully-but only for 2+ months. First, the fabric on the cord unraveled, then the cord fell off/broke at the base. Please advise me to see if I have any options for a replacement. I do not have my original receipt, however I can tell you where I purchased it and when. Great product, pricey and worth the money when it works. Thank you so much!

Hi there, just wondering if there is any way to trouble shoot or have a new flat iron sent? Over the past few days a error shows up on the touch screen and it loses its heat? Any ideas on how to fix the problem. It was not registered online and was given to me as a gift, is there anyway to have this resloved?
It does heat up for a few moments, but the no changes to the error code and loses the heat. Is this a common problem. I loved it while it was working!

I've never read such a helpful positive thread. I hope I came to the right places. I was at TJ Maxx several months ago. I had almost decided to get a baby bliss Pro flat iron it was an excellent deal and they have great reviews, and sell very well at Ulta, for a lot more money by the way. And then I spotted the Theorie flat iron in a gorgeous leather case. I did some research I was really excited by what I found. After a few weeks of light use it wasn't heating up as well as it originally had. And then the really odd thing that happened was the pink fuchsia color started rubbing off if even a drop of water landed on it. It continues to do that consistently. Because of the amazing reviews I would like to give this iron another try. I have extremely thick long hair and people are always commenting on it and asking me what I use to do it with. My main problem is I have not been able to find my receipt. Is there any possibility but I can get this one replaced and really give this great product a real try?

Got the orie as a gift for my birthday and was in love with it for a month or so now it will not turn on for some reason dont know if it is the cord or the button. It works wonderfully in my ethnic hair was wondering how to use the warranty i really like the single pass feature on it and digital heat settings
